How to cancel my insurance?

I am leaving Germany and I would like to quit my insurance. What is the procedure? I have haftpflichtversicherung and house insurance. I will be leaving by mid December, do I have enough time to quit?

I think your emigartion will be really exciting. My I ask where you are travelling to?

You can send us a cancellation of the liability insurance, as well as the deregistration from Germany as a copy.

With regard to household contents insurance, it is important that you tell us what you do with your household items when you leave Germany.

Please send us a contact address, so we can send you a confirmation.

You can send us the termination in several ways

- By mail to Allianz Versicherungs AG 10900 Berlin
- By e-mail to sachversicherung@allianz.de
- by fax to 0800/4400101

I have not yet deregistered my self from Germany yet as I have to yet buy my ticket to India. Should I send a termination letter after I have deregistered or can I also send it now and send my abmeldung once I have it?
Is it possible to call and ask my questions or visit your office?

For us, only the information is important, what happened to your household items. Whether you sell or give away is not relevant to us. We only need a final information.

You are now welcome to send the notice of cancellation and state in it that the deregistration from Germany will be sent later.

You can not visit the Allianz Hilft Team, but you are welcome to contact your local representative. This will gladly assist you in the handling of the facts.

Dear Sebastian, 
Thank you for responding to my questions. I have another one- 
Will my Haftflich cover for some damages in my apartment, fo eg. while I am moving my furniture around and something is damaged? If while leaving my apartment my landlord asks me to pay for some damages, can my insurance cover for it? Can that still be taken care of if I send my termination now but make the claim in december?
